Cerakote, PVD, DLC Gun Coatings

Cerakote gun coating for a unique look & best corrosion protection

Cerakote is a special ceramic coating, that was developed in the USA (the land of the guns). It offers a huge variety of colors and the possibility to combine these colors in camouflage and other patterns.

Beneath the endless possibilities of combining Cerakote colors to give your gun a unique look, application is one of the best methods to prevent your gun parts from corrosion.

It is resistant to heat, cold, most acids and also salt water, which comes in really handy when you get some sweat all over your gun during an exhausting match.

PVD – Physical Vapor Deposition

PVD is a high-performance coating with perfect sliding properties and very abrasion resistant surface.

In a highly complex thermo-electrolytical coating method it is applied at high pressure and about 450° Celsius. Each cycle lasts about 4-6 hours.

The extremely thin coating thickness reflects the gun parts surface before the process – matte surfaces appear matte again after coating while mirror polished surfaces keep their mirror surface, reflecting the PVD color after the coating process.

It is available in following colors:

  • Gold
  • Silver
  • Anthracite
  • Grey
  • Copper/Brass

If barrels or slides are PVD coated a renewal of the CIP safety check is necessary by the Austrian proof house department.
We are obligated by Austrian law to get the gun tested for safety again, even if your country is no member of the CIP.

DLC – Diamond Like Carbon

DLC = Diamond Like Carbon – As its name already explains it is a carbon layer that is about as hard as Diamond

This very hard surface is suitable for heavily used guns, such as sportive used pistols or guns for daily use with many holstering cycles.

The extremely thin coating thickness reflects the gun parts surface before the process – matte surfaces appear matte again after coating while mirror polished surfaces keep their mirror surface, reflecting the DLC color after the coating process.
