PLEASE NOTE: When coating riflescopes , please note that we cannot accept liability , as the cost of a scope is disproportionate to the cost of the work.
All parts must be sandblasted before Cerakote coating. Despite all precautions, a fine grain of blasting media could enter a gap around a moving part (e.g. a ballistic turret) and cause a scratching sensation during subsequent adjustment.
Sensitive parts are also cured at 60 °C in the curing oven. Scopes can normally withstand this temperature, for example during prolonged exposure to direct sunlight. However, damage cannot be ruled out, particularly for riflescopes with electronic components.
We have never experienced such problems so far. Nevertheless, we expressly point out that they are possible, and we carry out this work only if the customer accepts the risk !
The eyepiece, objective lens, all moving parts (such as the ballistic turret and focus adjustment) and their markings are masked before coating and cannot be coated.
To create a clean edge, a ring of the original coating remains at the front of the objective and at the rear of the eyepiece.
The original coating also remains on all other masked areas.
